Damn Politics

So here's why a lot of us aren't as informed on issues as we should be.

On any issue, I can find what would appear to be legitimate sources that are, in fact, only spreading hateful lies. If talking to a liberal, the lies are to keep poor people and minorities in their proper places. If I am talking to a conservative, the lies are to destroy the country by turning it into some horrifying version of George Orwell's 1984. I wish that I was exaggerating. But alas, I am not.

Honestly, most of us just simply have the time anymore to put the necessary hard work and research needed for each and every single topic of importance. There are a LOT of issues that are important to me, not just one or two. But I become overwhelmed within moments, because it takes so much damn work for me to find out what the REAL discussion is. I have to sift and sort through the bullshit of both political parties. And who has time for that? I used to. I wish I still did. But I don't. If I have to read 10 sources and weigh the pros and cons of both sides and try to read in between the lines to determine what the actual issue is... hell! It's not supposed to have to be that difficult!

I am not satisfied with the argument that the liberals want to destroy the country. But I am also not satisfied with the argument that everyone who opposed a bill is deliberately lying about it. Give me something better work with. We live in a country that has a big enough problem with apathy already. We do not need to give Americans any more reasons to stop caring!!!

Crossroads

Sometimes doing that's best is hard. Everyone says it. Everyone seems to know it. But most of us still don't do it, including myself.

Sometimes if we are put at an intersection where we have the choice to stay where we are at and have the chance of being relatively happy. Or we can face suffering now, in the hopes of being truly happy down the road. This is not an easy choice to make.

When it comes to relationships, I wish we had more choice. If something isn't working, do something about it and fix it. That is the opinion I used to hold and it lead me to divorce because I married someone when it wasn't working hoping that I could fix it.

When I have more answers, I will write them here.
